Microsoft’s Surface event has been scheduled for October 12th.

The moment has come for updated Surface hardware. Next month, Microsoft’s Surface event will be hosted. Microsoft has announced that it will be holding an event in the fall of 2022 called Microsoft Fall 2022 Event during which it will “speak about gadgets.” On October 12 at 10 AM ET, Microsoft will host an event before the start of their Ignite conference.

The event invitation from Microsoft features a watercolor wallpaper style background with the words “save the date” written in what looks like a Surface Pen. Only a few hours earlier, reports of a Surface Pro 9 and Surface Laptop 5 had been circulating, so the invitation seems timely. It has been speculated that the Surface Pro X range would be discontinued in favour of a new Surface Pro 9 that will be available with either an Arm or Intel processor.

There have been rumblings that a new Surface Laptop, number 5, is on the horizon. The Surface Pro 9 is also rumoured to come in a green and a light blue colour option from Microsoft.

Since the flu epidemic, Microsoft hasn’t staged any live Surface events, and it appears that this one will be virtual as well. It will take place in Seattle, hours before Microsoft hosts its first major in-person event since the pandemic began, at the Ignite conference.
